Tom Delay is Indicted

I wake up and turn on the TV to see all the news networks covering the indictment of Tom Delay. This investigation has been going on for some time now. I wrote about it here back in October of last year. I’ll just wait and see how this turns out, but it’s obvious that the slow, dog days of summer are over. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty, but my opinion on the matter hasn’t changed since October. If it looks like a duck and sounds like a duck and all that.
I do find it strange that the indictment is for one count of conspiracy. If, and I do mean if, Tom Delay has done something wrong, doesn’t it make since that several charges would be brought against him? One charge does sound like a weak case, a conspiracy charge at that. Isn’t that a difficult case to prove? I’m no lawyer though, I don’t even play one on TV, but one charge does make me wonder if this might actually turn out to be a witch-hunt. We’ll soon see.
